Searchwashing

(noun): /ˈsɜ tʃˌwɒʃɪŋ/

The act of manipulating online search results or digital content to create a misleading or overly favorable impression of a person, company, or situation. Searchwashing typically involves the use of search engine optimization (SEO) tactics, content creation, and other digital strategies to bury negative information or to promote a biased perspective, often with the intent of controlling public perception or reputation.

"After several controversies surfaced, critics accused Donald Trump of engaging in searchwashing by flooding the internet with positive articles and favorable content to overshadow the negative press and manipulate public perception."
