Die Strasse is a common german phrase that means "street". In Bosnia it is used to define the highschool German teacher that is weird, unusual, small, old, but yet loyal and good in heart.
"That is a weird lady man"
"Well, it is Strasse, we are used to it"
Area of specific interest. Heard recently on BBC Radio 5, ‘Right up your Strasse’. Clearly calqued from ‘right up your street’ but with a tone of contempt. Does the rhyme and association with ‘up your arse’ have anything to do with it?
