A rock 'n' roll band who have been around since 1962. The majority of 'Stones songs are quite simple but you just can't resist dancing to them. In terms of commercial success, they are 2nd to lThe Beatles. The Stones have produced such classics as Jumpin' Jack Flash, Sympathy For The Devil, (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Start Me Up, Rocks Off, Brown Sugar and so many more. Whilst a few people say that musically they are not as talented as some other bands from around that time, there is no denying the Stones can really rock. They will probably last forever, as I am currently writing this, they are on tour.

A great 60's band that was around the same time as The Beatles, The Who and other assorted classic rock artists, such as Bob Dylan. Anyway, by far one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever. They didn't play Rock and Roll, they made Rock and Roll, from wonders of "Lets Spend the Night Together", to the classics "Jumping Jack Flash", "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and "Sympathy for the Devil", the Rolling Stones have made their way into everyone that is old enough to listen to music. You don't even have to listen to Rock & Roll to know the 'Stones. We as people of the 2000's, have been blessed to be born in an era where god like 60's bands are still somewhat capable of playing like they did (by which I mean, members dieing by means of overdose, cancer, or in Keith Moons case, getting drunk and drowning in a puddle). I find it horrible that more and more kids are starting to listen to rap and music thats all about rhythm and lyrics and people becoming emo and us worrying about aids, back in the 60's, nobody fucking cared, so cherish the 60's bands that remain, for when they are gone, they will leave a gap that can never be filled, one of the biggest of all being the Stones

Formed in 1962, the rolling stones are a rock band that rose to fame during the british invasion. Their sound was a raw and angry alternative to the beatles. Some early songs include satisfaction, under my thumb, paint it black, & get off my cloud.
The stones were seen as a very good band until 1968's beggar's bqanquet. After that album they transformed into the greatest rock band on earth and they released a string of abums that are classics such as let it bleed, sticky fingers, and their magnus opus exile on main st.
Their next few albums while good, were looming in the shadow of exile. That all changed with 1978's Some Girls.
A Fusion of Disco, Punk, and the classic "stones-y" sound, it is one of the most challenging records to date.
In the early 80's they released Emotional Rescue and Tattoo You which produced new stones classics such as start me up and waiting on a freind.
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards relationship began to sour and as a result made some less than stellar albums such as undercover and dirty work. But they pulled it together and put aside their diffrences for their comeback 1989's steel wheels and then launched their biggest tour to date.
They are still together and every tour for them seems to become the most suscessfull tour ever.
The rolling stones are the greatest rock band ever.
You have not lived till you see them live.

The Greatest rock band ever... and there will never be a better one.
When i look at all these gay bands today like Green Day, I see no hope for rock
When i see those 60 yr old stoners rocking places to the ground i just sit down and sob uncontrollably because i kno they are going to die soon and along with them goes the birth of rock
The rolling stones: DIE GREEN DAY YOU SUCK!!! Hey pass us that weed...

A person who likes to move often or is unwilling to settle down in one place or with one person or both. This phrase is based on the old saying "a rolling stone gathers no moss."
"Papa was a rolling stone, my son.
Wherever he laid his hat was his home.
(And when he died) All he left us was alone."

A metaphor for something that is always moving or changing. This phrase has many connections to music: It's the name of a magazine that focuses on pop culture and music, it's the name of a band, and it's a lyric in a song by Bob Dylan. These three things may be connected. A possible origin of this phrase is the old saying, "a rolling stone gathers no moss."
