One Shot

In tabletop role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons, a one shot is a self contained game that lasts for a single play session.

Since Halloween is coming up we decided to play a horror themed one shot this weekend instead of our normal session.

When a person is knocked out cold, with one punch. Typically "one shot" is delivered from a juicehead with a running start. One shot can result in an overnight in the county jail.

A short story, usually a romantic story about a particular pairing, that is written with 8,000 words or less. It is one chapter in total length, and doesn't go any further than that. Any one shot story can contain a straight, slash or crack pairing and can be from any series of TV show, anime, manga or anything else labeled as generally kawaii or part of pop culture. Breaking these rules may make it a normal fanfiction

A term used in fanfictions to say that there will only be one body of text. (One chapter)

One Shotted

1. Usually used in MOORPG's to describe an event where a high level NPC or monster kills your 10,000 hit point character in one fatal swoop.

2. Can also be used to describe an event where serious pwnage is credited.

2.The snowboarding spill was so epic that dude got One Shotted to the top.

One-shot

Writing about a character, place or thing that has been done on a spur of the moment of a fandom or orginal peice. Usually is to short for a short story consisting of only one chapter.

'The writer did a one=shot of Mike's feelings toward his parents.'
