1. An intense LSD (or other psychedelic substance) experience, also referred to as a “Trip”, in which the person under the influence begins to feel an overwhelming sense of disappointment, despair, dread and anxiety.

2. Term describing an unpleasant experience while on large amounts of hallucinogens.

Hippie 1:Sorry I freaked everyone out when I ran off into the woods, but I was having a totally “bum trip” and couldn’t get away from my shadow.

Hippie 2: Bummer, maaan. I had a “bum trip” last week on that sunshine acid. I was so outta my gourde it was a bummer.

Hippie 1: Bummer, man.

Hippie 2: Yeah man, total bummer, man.
Hippie 1: I know, maaan, like, “bum trips” are a total bummer.

Hippie 2:Tell me about it! Such a bummer!
Hippie 1: Oh, okay…so I had a majorly “bum trip” at the party when I stripped naked and ran into the woods. My shadow was a major bummer and totally bummed me out, maaan.

Hippe 2: Dude man, you are totally bumming me out! Bumming me out worse than this Grateful Dead drum solo. Has it really been 45 min of drums?? Bummer.

“That makes my butt hard” (“making my butt hard-verb version) is an expression that can have slightly different meanings depending on the circumstance, but generally the expression is used in a positive manner. This positive expression can be used in the following ways (however not limited to what is listed):

2) Used to express attraction towards someone else.

3) Can be used to convey a general liking of something, some place, or someone.

Examples:

•Girl, You makes my butt hard ….no no…that’s a good thing. No…I’m not into anal play… I guess I was trying to say that you give me an erection, but didn’t want to come across as an agro alpha male.
