The state of psychological distress (or, perhaps, arrogance combined with hubris) which leads people to build huge mansions â or to knock down huge mansions in order to build even larger ones. Itâs the real estate version of the desire to drive around town in a Hummer â only much, much worse in terms of wasted energy and money.
