PFL

A potential future lover(boy), or PFL is a slang term that describes the relation between two people who may or may not end up as a couple. This phrase describes the situation in which one or both of the parties have a romantic interest in each other, before they are officially dating. It describes the twilight zone between acquaintance and dating, if you will.

If a boy and a girl meet at a party and there is an attraction between them, but they don´t start dating although they might want to. They hang out and get to know each other and this is when they could start referring to each other as a PFL.
