hype team

A group of people who hype up an audience before a politician takes the stage. They usually run around the stage and lead chants to get people's energy up and make them more receptive to what the following speaker has to say.

"It got kinda weird when Clinton's hype team tried to reach out to a crowd of Latinos by doing the macarena"
