Rim Job

A rim job is when someone is playing a game such as beer pong and the ball circles around the rim of the cup and flings out, teasing the player into thinking they would get a win, though they do not.

This definition also applies to similar games such as basketball or mini golf, where there is a ball meant to go into a circular hole.

Kyle almost won beer pong, but he just gave the cup a rim job, damn.

Out on the field, I was giving rim jobs all night, so I did not win.

Blords

Blords is the broad category of when you mix up, or generally mess up your words or phrases in conversation.

This may happen in times we are thinking of two similar words or phrases at once, and the words come out combined. Or it can be when we say the inappropriate phrase as a quick response. Spoonerisms also fall under the category of blords, which is switching the first letters of two consecutive words

"Hi, how are you going?... Oh, whoops, I've got the blords."
-
"Go put away the foldable chables... I meant the foldable chairs and tables. I've got the blords today."
-
Waitress: "Enjoy your meal!"
Lisa: "Thanks, you too!" (Oh no, I've got the blords)
-
"We can't cut the grass today because our mawn lower is broken... haha oopsie, got the blords."

Edging

Edging is when you experience a fakeout that causes a brain or bodily reaction. Or, when an expectation fails in an exact moment, causing an emotional or physical stimuli to the expectant.

For example, you are at a rave and the song sounds as if the beat is about to drop, but it does not in that moment, though your body and brain still react as if it did drop.

That song sounded like "Never Gonna Give You Up", it kept edging me into thinking I was about to get Rick Rolled.

That DVD symbol almost hit the corner exactly, but it did not, I was edged.
