back 6

The 'Back 6' is a reference the perilous closing 6 holes at the Famed FGCC Village Course in Athletes Village, CA. After routing changes in 2005 it simply became called 'The North Course' or 'The Six' and currently comprises the starting 6 holes. Often referred to provincially as the toughest 6 holes in golf it is noted to have decided the outcome of several provincial majors. It's fame and notoriety has spawned many local sayings, t-shirts and even a restaurant leaning on the fame of 'The Back 6' for its name.

Played a lot of golf in my day but that 'Back 6' at the village course is nasty.

barryscotted

"Barryscotted" Is a golf term used to describe what happens to your ball after it has been putted and someone says "its in". Invairiably when 'its in', 'nice putt', 'go in' or any other terms of concession or encouragement are made prior to the ball actually 'going in' the ball always manages to find a way to 'stay out'. If you have hit the perfect putt, and someone 'talks to your ball' and it stays out, you have been 'Barryscotted'.

The origin of the term is east coast of Canada in nature (although widely heard throughout North America now) and is loosely tied back to a famous superintendent who held a particular disdain for ball talking.

You 'Barryscotted' me, that ball was center cup!"

P.L.E. (professional life experimenter)

A person who always does and never doesn’t. When presented with the opportunity to try something this person is all in. The results often end in more failures than succeses but in the end lead to a richer life and a more rounded person.

Man, That Bill Perkins guy will try anything, he is a P.L.E. (professional life experimenter)
