No Sky July

No Sky July is a mainly Southern California term for a weather pattern that results in cloudy, overcast skies with cool temperatures the summer. Low-altitude stratus clouds form over the cool water of the California Current, and spread overnight into the coastal regions of California.

Tourist: What's up with this weather. Where is the sun?
Local: This is our No Sky July. We've just entered into winter in California. You'll be very lucky if you see the sun at all the next month.
