A type of device used in engines to meter (regulate) fuel flow into an airstream by the way of a metering valve, an emulsion tube (main nozzle), and a venturi.
Hey Joe, do you know where I can get an adjustable 4-barrel carburetor for my '67 Chevelle? It's got an old Holley 2-barrel, but it needs more power.

The main drive pulley of an engine; mounted on the fromt end of the crankshaft. Harmonic balancers are weighted to keep the crankshaft balance in order to reduce vibration.
Frank: The dang harmonic balancer is frozen to the crankshaft!
Allan: Probably gonna have to use a harmonic balancer puller, Frank.
Frank: Wow! They actually make those?!
Allan: Yep
An area of fluid-flow, typically through a tube, in which there is a decrease in area, causing increased fluid-flow velocity and lower pressure resulting in a vacuum at the point of lower pressure.
Dave: "Hey man, what's the venturi do in a carburetor?"
Joe: "The venturi creates a vacuum which sucks up fuel through the main nozzle of the carburetor and into the air-stream."
