Breadcake

Breadcake is a term for a cob used in Yorkshire and mainly in Sheffield.

It derived from when kids asked their mothers for a cake but all they had is a roll. They passed off a roll sometimes with icing and called it a breadcake. The kids fell for this ruse and to this day cobs are called breadcakes. True fact.

Mam has thee any of those breadcakes as Iรขย€ย™ve eaten all my coal and smelt.
