Breadcake is a term for a cob used in Yorkshire and mainly in Sheffield.
It derived from when kids asked their mothers for a cake but all they had is a roll. They passed off a roll sometimes with icing and called it a breadcake. The kids fell for this ruse and to this day cobs are called breadcakes. True fact.
Mam has thee any of those breadcakes as Iรขยยve eaten all my coal and smelt.
