Gemba Walk

In Japanese, Gemba means "Real Place." Japanese detectives refer to the crime scene as the gemba. In America, it has become an over-used corporate style of management. These walks typically include bored and potentially overweight employees who walk aimlessly around the office in the middle of the day, hoping to work up the courage to make it to the vending machine before the end of the day.

On Fridays, Hans does Gemba walks around the office to appear productive and fit to his employees. His boss, Charles approves of his diligence and promoted him to supervisor.
