Honey Money

A term used when describing money that has been obtained legally but without work. Often used when referring to money acquired after a divorce or when gold-digging.

The term 'honey' refers to a bear's strategy of raiding a beehive for honey. The bear benefits from the effort of someone else without doing any actual work themselves.

You gotta marry that old man and get that sweet honey money!

My husband died, at least he left me some decent honey money.
