Dadcore

A genre of modern indie rock that blends the traditional post-punk leanings of indie with the dad rock of the 70s.

Expect a singer-songwriter playing average electric guitar solos over the top of an incredibly bored backup band.

Examples: the War on Drugs, Wilco, Kurt Vile, etc.

Woah you're going to Mountain Jam? Never knew you were into dadcore.

Vacuumcore

A form of shoegaze that relies on emulating vacuum cleaners with a guitar. Pioneered originally by an ex-Dyson employee Kevin Shields, vacuumcore has become one of the major styles of shoegaze and has bleeded over into many other genres of music such as black metal.
