Gettymology

(Adj.) The ability for very wealthy families, throughout history, to conceal the roots of their evils beneath branding, rags-to-riches folklore or neo-altruism.

The insistence that one's family name is paramount.

Auto-didactic, revisionist history.

A compound word derived from the words "etymology" (history of a word) and the infamous "Getty" family who were fine exponents of the craft.

"Whatcha reading there...is that the history of the Rothschilds publish via a company they own?"
"Yeah, so?
"Gettymology, right there my friend. They'll be no clan outfits in any of those closets then!"

Ignoramicist

A casual racist if you will. More common and accepted, therefore more dangerous. They have no sense of history or context and have the empathy of a medical sociopath. They have entrenched beliefs based upon socio-behavioural programming as opposed to genuine racial hatred. Their outbursts are often prefaced with phrases like "No offence but..." or "The problem with your lot is...".

"C'mon mate, it's only a word. I don't mind if you call me honky"

"What about those MOBO's then? How racist are they!?"
"Ah, I see your playing the ignoramicist card; well done"

deja-flu

When, say, a pandemic has us all mentally unstable and the government is like a small child lost in a supermarket. Winter brings a new variant and again, tighter protocols. Science is advancing apace and it yet it feels awfully like one year ago since...(often around Xmas time in northern hemisphere Winters).

"I see on the news we're back to masks-on again...hold on, wait juuuust a minute, oooh, er, I just had deja-flu!"

Millenial Water

Relates to the ubiquitous availability and usage of energy drinks for and by the under 20s (millenials). Red Bull, Relentless, Monster, et al.

A psychological crutch, masquerading magical properties which negate the need for restful sleep and can be used as a prerequisite for anything that requires actual effort.

"Wish they had millenial water back in the day when I was pulling all-nighters playing "Sonic" on my Sega Megadrive; I'd have completed more levels!"

Clickbait Jockey

Radio show presenters/hosts who do not achieve their status by merit or talent but by their ability to divide opinion and create social media mountains out of molehills. They are also prepared to endorse conversational topics which would, in regular discussion, send a glass-eye to sleep. Naturally, they think twitter is a reflection of the zeitgeist.

"Welcome to the show. Today's topic, is Donald Trump really an introvert? Call in now on..."

"Ugh! Turn that sh*t off; bloody clickbait jockey"
