Everyone knows what waffle is. Yes! It is a dessert. You can put syrups and fruits on it.
But waffle can mean something unimportant and trivial.

Ex) A: (bullshits)

B: hey. Stop waffling on! I can not stand it!

Ex) C: what did your professor say?

D: a load of waffle. Nothing important at all.
