One of them is the dual meaning, which i mentioned before, and another is the feeling of belonging or speciality from the fact that the joke is only understood by few. some may call this a reference. Understanding the reference can be a great feeling and funny for many reasons. The main one is that nobody else will understand the joke if they do not know what it is referring to, making you feel unique and above them at that point in time.
