Abandoned house in a blighted neighborhood.
As a Census Bureau representative that performs housing and population surveys for the U.S. Dept of Commerce, I once said to an African American resident that there was a lot of âblightâ in this area of town. He asked what blight was because he did not know and responded in an ebonically speaking accent âOh, we dem banoâs because they are abandonedâ.
They got a lot of banos in this old run down town.
