Hubbard, L. Ron

The discoverer of ways to improve awareness, intelligence, and ethical behavior toward others. Hubbard published the first of these discoveries and step-by-step methods in the book "Dianetics, the Modern Science of Mental Health" in 1950. That book became a best-seller.

As ongoing research began to reveal and prove the existence of an eternal human soul, Hubbard founded the Church of Scientology.

L. Ron Hubbard is the founder of the Scientology religion.

Cof$

A vulgar term for the Church of Scientology. The term comes from the fact that Scientology churches must pay their bills by requesting fixed-amount donations for their courses or their counselling. While few other religions do that, this relatively new idea allows the Scientology religion to grow at a pace commensurate with how valuable people think it is. It has continued to grow.

When I saw the term "Cof$" in the article, I knew the writer had writen a one-sided and hateful piece.
