Ripley's Law

The longer an event of negative impact occurs, the higher the probability of somebody suggesting we nuke it to try and solve it.

Guy 1: Maybe we should nuke the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.
Guy 2: Dammit, I just got Ripley's Law'd!
