When dumb people are describing 'canon', (the material accepted as officially part of the story in an individual universe of that story) they refer to it as 'cannon'.

Dave: Is that in the original story?
Mark: Just deal with it, it's cannon
Dave: You mean canon?
Mark: No I mean cannon! Boom!
