Jurassic Park Advent is an annual seven-day celebration of dinosaurs and dinosaur-related media, particularly the Jurassic Park film series. It begins on the Saturday preceding the first Friday in April, and ends on the first Friday in April (Jurassic Park Day). It was created in 2013 by two sibling Jurassic Park enthusiasts from Wisconsin to celebrate the 20th anniversary theatrical re-release of Jurassic Park.
Common traditions during Jurassic Park Advent include throwing dinosaur-themed parties, watching the movies from the Jurassic Park franchise (or other dinosaur movies/programs), and sharing dinosaur-related content on social media. Friends and family will usually gather to watch the original film on the last day of Advent, Jurassic Park Day.
In 2016, Jurassic Park Advent will begin on March 26, and Jurassic Park Day will fall on April 1.
