Hampshire College's radio station, situated in a stand of trees adjacent to Franklin Patterson Hall. It is a small, wooden building looking like a cross between the Mongolian tent from which it gets its name and a flying saucer. Sometimes the Yurt plays music on two large speakers that can be heard as far away as the Greenwitch Mods.
Hampshire student 1: "Where are you goin'?"
Hampshire student 2: "They're interviewing me for that radio show The Beer Hour over at the Yurt."
Hampshire student 1: "Sweet."
In hobo parlance, "sniping" means to pick up spent cigarette butts and collect the tobacco to smoke.
"When yer on the bum & ya can't buy smokes, that's when you start sniping."
