metanuance

Meta-nuance or metanuance is only used when a person consumes a piece of media but misses the blatant text (not the subtext) or the entire point of the piece of media.

This is mostly used to point out things that should be considered obvious but are missed by some people and can thus be used as a spin on the word nuance (or the subtext of a piece of media) and create metanuance (or the text itself) in a humorous way.

Person 1: You know, I was re-watching the X-Men franchise yesterday—
Person 2: God, did you see how one of the actors in the movies missed the metanuance of the series?

Bro 1: Bro, I was watching the X-Men franchise yesterday—
Bro 2: God, Bro I wish I could watch it but I can't since the actors in the movies missed the meta-nuance of the series.
