molting

verb. the act of showing a past good-looking photo of yourself (your former shell) to someone so they find you attractive compared to your present appearance. It could be pounds or years ago. The term is derived from animals leaving their previous "shell" for a new one.

He is molting to see if other people will stop blocking him.
As a social experiment, he molted that guy over chat and he didn't get blocked.
