LS1

A 3rd generation small block chevy sbc found under the hood of 1998 and up Camaro Z28's and SS's, Pontiac Firebird Formulas, Trans Am's, and GTO's up to 2004. This hairy beast of an engine is conservatively rated at 325 horsepower, when many cars see 315 at the wheels bone stock. It is 5.7 liters or 346.7 cubic inches displacement. 500+ horsepower is attainable without the use of forced induction.

Also, it is the sore spot to an ricer. Touted by said ricers as "old technology" because it has pushrods, the LS1 motor and its various LSX companions will continue to be the bane of many ricers' existence.

Common excuses made by those slain by the mighty LS1 include (but are not limited to):
-I (losing car) have better hp/liter
-I (losing car) get better gas mileage
-It's an unfair race because you (LS1 owner) have more displacement***
-It's to hot for turbos
-I'm running pump gas, so I can only run 10 psi.
-If I had C16 race gas, I'd kill you
-I had a boost leak.
-Blow off valve (BOV) is stuck.
-Clutch was slipping

***Note: I did not make you buy a car with a smaller engine, so don't bitch about it.

I thought my giant wing and primered body kit would be enough for the LS1. Boy, was I wrong.

I am a stupid ricer so I make fun of the LS1 for having pushrods even though it makes 3 times the power of my DOHC civic.

An LSX motor is like having King Kong under your hood, once you floor it, it goes ape shit.

God didn't rest on the 8th day, he simply sat and listened to a cammed LS1 with open headers idle all day.

C16

A leaded racing fuel used in turbocharged, supercharged, or nitrous injected vehicles. It is good for up to a 17:1 compression ratio.

-C16 is blue in color and smells kind of like cherries.
-The octance of C16 is roughly 117.
-It is the spec fuel for the NHRA Top Eliminator class
-The specific gravity is .735 at 60* Farenheit.

I run C16 race gas in my blown 427 running 35 psi and a 150 shot of nitrous.

"Is that car running C16? It smelled like cherries after it drove by."
