Pulling a Brendan

A scheme in which someone develops an alternative plan to be executed immediately following the consummation of the original plan.

"My review didn't go as I had hoped. I didn't want to, but it looks like I am pulling a Brendan. Time to go tell my boss that I am accepting another job"!
