Groud means âgrateful to God for every good thing thatâs happening in your life, but totally aware that you could screw it up at any moment because youâre just human" per Kathie Lee Gifford.
From People Magazine August 2017: Kathie Lee Gifford is extremely proud of her two kids, but you wonât ever hear her use that word to tell them so. For PEOPLEâs Celeb Moms Get Real, the Today host explained why she didnât tell her son Cody, now 27 (daughter Cassidy is 24), that she was proud of him when he received straight As during his first semester at USC film school.
âWe donât say âproudâ in our family, we never have,â Gifford says. âCassidy was still home and she said, âMom, why arenât you saying something? Arenât you proud of him?â And I remember saying, âCass, pride comes before the fall. A good book says that.â â âShe goes, âSo Mom, we need a God word for proud,â â continues the longtime television personality, 63. âSo I thought about it and said, âOkay, Cass, letâs make âgroud,â meaning âgrateful to God for every good thing thatâs happening in your life, but totally aware that you could screw it up at any moment because youâre just human.â â â
It has not been easy, but all the hard work was worth it and I'm groud.
