Origin: after William Shatner, actor, famous for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the hit 1960's TV show Star Trek. Less famous for everything else since then.

With the release of The Matrix trilogy, Keanu Reeves had clearly shatnered, as he will unlikely be able to achieve such awesomeness again unless, by some wondrous twist of fate, he is able to reprise his role as "Ted" Theodore Logan in the yet-to-be produced Broadway show "Bill and Ted's Excellent Musical Adventure."
