When someone leads you on with plans but then cancels last minute ; usually followed by some bullshit excuse

“He totally pulled a John last night... he said he was coming at 7:00 but at 6:50 he texted me saying his mom is making him take his dogs to the vet... he doesn’t have a dog”

“He’s totally pulling a John tonight... he said he has to watch his little sister so he can’t come!!”
