Dunder Cap

Dunder Cap: n \’d:(n-d;(r\ perh. fr. D dondér thunder + n \kap\ ME cappe, fr. OE cæppe, fr. LL cappa head covering, cloke

A contraction of dunce cap (1840) and dunderhead (1625).

An idiot, numb skull, blockhead or dunce. One who does not understand the obvious results of a planned action.

Ah come on you Dunder Caps! Look at what renovations to the Vinoy hotel did for downtown St. Pete! The concerts, the promotions – at Vinoy Park. Please. If that isn’t an example of how to make money on a historic downtown venue I don’t know what is. Are all of you out of work construction workers?

urbanesque

Urbanesque: An architectural term inferring that a series of structures are built close together with minimal outside space to separate them, thus giving the aesthetic of a modern city or densely populated space. Urbanesque structures are usually devoid of ornamentation and the connecting outside space between them is used in a utilitarian manner, ie, for a bench or outdoor seating.

The design masks the traditional industrial parking garage aesthetic, replacing it with an urbanesque facade that blends with the surrounding architecture.
