valleys sirloin

Corned Beef. Beloved of the inhabitants of South Wales who use it in anything they can to make their Giro go further, therefore being able to afford more booze and fags. Uses include stew (cawl), pies, pasties and hash. Particularly delicious as an antipasta, just before the main course of spaghetti alla corned beef.

'Oooh, Myfanwi, what you done for dinner you lazy slag?'
'Dai, look you boyo, I got a nice bit of steak from this tin, so it's valleys sirloin for you'

Merthyr Tumbleweed

A plastic carrier bag, usually from Kwik Save, which can be found blowing around the valleys of South Wales on a windy day.

Dai, is that a Merthyr Tumbleweed blowing around the pub car park?
