To make a shitty localization of a game, usually a Japanese game ported to the West.
The name originates in the company Treehouse, well known for making terrible localizations of Nintendo games.
- Fuck, I can't believe Nintendo did it again! They treehoused the fuck out of Fire Emblem Fates!
- I'm sick of all this treehousing. I'm not buying another game from them until they get their shit together.
The opposite of Occam's Razor, it applies to situations where the most convoluted, elaborate explanation is the most likely to be true.
It's named in honor of Peter Coffin, who got famous for creating an incredibly complex labyrinth of lies in order to pretend he had lost his virginity. When some inconsistencies in his story became apparent, some people suggested bizarre explanations as a joke, but later the most ludicrous ones turned out to be true.
"Okay, so either Peter finally got a girlfriend, or he has dedicated the last few years of his life to the elaboration of a complex network of deception that involves a real size sex doll, thousands of dollars worth of girl's clothes, including custom made cosplay, dozens of sockpuppet accounts interacting with each other, several blogs and twitter accounts that he writes himself regularly, photo manipulation, stop motion animation, hiring a Scottish woman to record voice samples, dressing in drag, finding girls that looked like the doll and secretly taking pictures of them, stealing a baby, acquiring hospital equipment to use as props, and forging official documents, and he did all this despite he was caught years ago doing something similar and got publicly humiliated for it. Now seriously, what do you think is more likely?"
"By application of Peter's Coffin, the second hypothesis is the most likely."
A few days later...
"Oh my god! I can't believe it was all true! Peter's Coffin was right again!"

An innocent children school prank, performed mostly for laughs. It's based on pulling the back of the underwear up so that it wedges between the buttocks.
As a freshman in high school I was invited to a party in an island with only males and no adults. All the other boys were upperclassmen and many of them even came from other schools to this party, so I thought it would be really cool. As soon as I arrived, they stripped me of my clothes except underwear and tied my hands and arms on my back with duct tape, then they gave me an atomic wedgie and hanged me from a tree by my thighty whities and then they started kicking my balls and hitting them with baseball bats and sledge hammers. I cried all the time and they took pictures of me and also recorded it with a camera and broadcasted it live through the internet with a webcam while they wanked and came all over me. This lasted many hours and I passed away several times because of the extreme pain, but they kept waking me up by injecting me adrenaline. They left me hanging there for one week giving me water and feeding me with their cum, so I was forced to pee and crap on myself all this time. Finally they left the island and three days later I was found by a fisherman when I was almost dead. I never told my parents about it.
