Borispaff

Extravagant and infeasible promise made with vigorous enthusiasm, commitment and great charisma and precisely zero intention of implementation at any future date. Often abbreviated to its acronymic form "BS". Popularised by the British prime minister, Boris Johnson. A portmanteau word with origins in the archaic Russian word Borispav describing a confidence trickster's widening smile as his victim is duped.

Wow, that stuff about levelling up the north after Brexit was amazing Borispaff!

Boris Johnson

Occasional spokesperson for President Dominic Cummings of the United Kingdom.

Is Boris Johnson going to do the briefing this time or will we have to attribute it to "Downing Street source" again?

Unambrief

A supposedly anonymous political briefing where the identity of the source is blindingly obvious from comparison with previous briefings and leaks.

Ho hum, another day, another unambrief from "senior Downing Street source".
