metaphorgasm

What happens when someone overreacts, gushingly, to an overanalytical comment about literature.

The English teacher had a metaphorgasm when the student compared the clouds in the poem to femininity and the sun in the poem to masculinity.

colorbar

A decoration put on a blog. Colorbars commonly contain images tinted in six colors, with the caption "(Subject of pictures) is love." Originally, the colorbar was meant to support gay marriage with the caption "Marriage is love," and colored blocks, instead of tinted images, but since then they have been adapted for celebrities, tv shows, sports teams and other things.

If you check my profile on LiveJournal, you'll notice I put a Family Guy colorbar on it because I'm a big fan of the show.

fake originality

When someone thinks they're so original and clever because they thought up something everyone has heard before.

"I like to call Target 'Tar-jay' to make it sound fancy."
"I don't watch that show, and none of my friends do either. They should call it 'Everybody Hates Raymond.'" (waits for laughter)

"I heard that from someone else today. Enough fake originality."

billy goat curse

The curse that prevents the Chicago Cubs from ever winning the National League Pennant. Contrary to what a previous user wrote, the curse began in 1945 when a tavern owner tried to bring his pet goat into Wrigley Field during Game 1 of the World Series because it was a good luck charm. Security didn't allow it and as they escorted him out he declared that the Cubs would never again win the pennant. And they haven't.

"Did you hear Sammy Sosa hurt his back while sneezing?"
"Yeah, it must be that billy goat curse again."

rice krispie treats

Money, in any form. It was first used on the tv show Family Guy, but has since been adopted to a degree and can be used.

Give me my rice krispie treats already, you've owed me $50 for about a month now.

travishamockery

Originally from a beer commercial, a travishamockery is a combination of a travesty, a sham and a mockery. In other words, something really, really unfair and unjust.

Many people thought the recount during the 2000 election in Florida was a travishamockery.

/

Commonly-used Internet character, synonymous with a question mark. This is because on a keyboard, ? and / appear on the same key, with a sometimes-forgotten shift key differentiating between the two. In a hurry, AIM users will sometimes neglect going back and fixing the question mark.
