A sudden oversteer in a car caused by the rear-end being unsettled in a corner. Usually happens if the accelerator is pressed too hard or too early on corner exit. May be unpredictable and needs delicate steering and pedal work to correct depending on severity
Term is originally used in motorcycling, but is used interchangeably with cars and racing
Tarquini had a massive tank slapper on Copse corner and lost quite a lot of time before Maggotts and Becketts
Tankslapper is when a car has sudden oversteer due to many different conditions depending on suspension or drivetrain setup.
One possible origin for the word is old WW2 tank crew vetetans taking careers as racing drivers during 1950s and dubbing the natural effect of inertia as a "tankslapper" as the weight of a tank usually centered around the rear due to storing ammunition.
"A nice save from Senna from a massive tank slapper at the European grand prix!"
A nickname for a Finnish light machine gun (Kk 62) mocked for its terrible capabilities and reliability. Often nicknamed by soldiers as the "Diarrhoea Sling."
"Vittu! Ne myönsi mulle Ripulilingon!"
("Fuck! They issued me the Diarrhoea Sling!")
Another way of saying kangaroo
Oi! There's that springy cunt again!
Giving a vague and short answer to a question that was looking for more insights and a longer answer. A typical phenomenon with Finnish racing drivers.
"Brian, did you manage to get anything from the rookie driver?"
"No, he was doing a Mika Hakkinen"
"What!?"
"Yes"
