This term consists of the English "gulp" and the Japanese words similar in spelling and sound ã½ã¼ã "sÅda" (soda) and ã½ã¼ã "sÅdo" (sword). In my understanding, it sounds like when you read a book, watch a movie, and, in principle, do something new, at first it was as if you drank soda, enjoying the taste.
But then everything goes almost the worst way, it hurts like you swallowed a sword. But you keep going anyway, because you like it, and you can't give up the story of these characters and themselves.
I think it could be synonymous with obsession.
(this is my project work, which I have to hand over in two weeks.
I would be very glad if you could help to promote this slang expression a little bit, awesome users:)).
For example â1:
- My favorite character was killed a few episodes ago!
- What, your love! I'm sobbing.. Stop, why would you keep watching this show?
- it's like a gulp of soda.. I just cannot leave them behind! I'm curious what's going to happen next.
For example â2:
- Oh my God, look at you! You don't look any better than a living corpse.
- That's why I avoid mirrors.
- A.. anyway, what happened to you?
- I worked myself to death. I was so glad that my business at work went up the hill and I began to receive more and more new orders. I was overcome with inspiration. But it was an obsession! A gulp of soda!
- Oh, darling, you need to think more about yourself.
