CardCaptors

Nelvana's terrible mutilation of the Japanese anime Cardcaptor Sakura, which provided audiences in America with a plot that was completely screwed around with, select episodes that were completely cut out, and a terrible, terrible English dub. The author is a fan of the original Japanese anime as well as the manga, produced in the states by the Tokyopop company, whom she feels did a good job with it- unfortunately, the anime was not such a good move at all. Were it in more capable hands, it may have fared better.

I'll never forgive Nelvana for what they did to Touya and Yukito...

go boil your head

An insult, roughly equivalent to get lost or in some cases go fuck yourself. As far as I can tell, it is mainly used in Britain.

The origins of this phrase are as follows, from http://www.phrases.org.uk:

"This relates to the fact that in South Pacific societies cooked food was 'noa' or the opposite of tapu (tapu is loosely translated as sacred though it has a deeper meaning than that). The head was considered the most sacred part of the body and one doesn't usually pat children on the head, or stroke a person's hair. An exhortation to turn your head into cooked food was regarded as the greatest possible insult."

Adjective- To be like a frood (to be really amazingly together). Commonly used in Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy of five books.

"Listen Ford," said Zaphod, "everything's cool and froody."

An infinitely large and infinitely improbable amount of space which, when looked at from a mathematical standpoint, can be said to have no life, civilization, language, art, or anything at all in it. The answer to the whole mess of it all has been calculated to be forty-two, but every attempt to find the actual question has failed miserably, the most noteworthy of which has been the planet Earth. Thoughts on this matter-

A phrase coined by the British comedy troupe Monty Python. It is used to signify the arrival of something that is, indeed, completely different from whatever had been going on previously.
