Harajuku

Harajuku (Œ´h) is the common name for the area around Harajuku Station on the Yamanote Line in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo, Japan.

Though it was really just shopping area it became a Sunday hangout for the fashionistic teens of Japan in the 80's when street performers and wildly dressed kids started showing up to show off there own musical and artistic creations. Through this artistic outburst have come many subcultures such as: Visual Kei, Lolita, Decora, Ganguro, etc.

Since the solo career of the now oh so un-original Gwen Stefania terrible Americanised view of "harajuku" has been seen. With her latest tour and label Harajuku Lovers(rudely and obviously ripped off from Yasuharu Tanaka's famous Japanese fashion label, Super Lovers)Gwen's trendy American followers have developed poor knowlegde of the complex fashionistc society of Japanese Street Fashion that insults true fans in western civilization.

Gwen: "Harajuku girls have wicked style:
Gwen fan: "Look there's a heart on my shirt! Now I'm all Harajuku like my idol Gwen."
American JSF-er: "Gwen Stefani is a jerk."

italoli

(EtälOlE)
Italolis (painful lolitas) are lolitas who have it all wrong. They are like the noobsof the lolita fashion world and true lolitas spit on them in shame. They consist of the following characteristics:
.they are "the people who got it wrong" in the elitist circles
.a lot of black and white
.cheap fabric and lace
.common headresses
.use way to elaborate make-up
.and they generally don't care that real lolitas hate them.

They are close relatives to Otarori(otakulolita) and are usually found at anime cons hanging out with their cousins.

Lolita 1: "Look at that little girl over there who thinks she knows everything about lolita."
Lolita 2: "It looks like she bought that outfit at hottopic!"
Lolita 1: "She must be an italoli"

fashionista

A person devoted to fashion clothing, particularily unique or high fashion.
A person not to be called a fashionista would be someone who obsessivly follows trends. REAL fashionistas do not believe in trends.
That type of person would be more correctly labeled a fashion whore or a shallow bitch.

Student #1:"Oh my gosh! Look at that girl wearing those sparkly red mary janes, black lolita skirt, hello kitty corset, and a top hat with pink hair!"
Student #2"Oh yeah, thats Xenia, she's a Fashionista."

oic

An internet slang word/abbreviation of the common phrase "Oh I See"

Is rarely used in actual physical conversation, but when it is "oic" is properly pronounced, "oh-eesh" and even, "oh-ee-shee". The "oh-ee-shee" pronunciation is usually considered less proper because it is regularly mistaken for the Japanese words oishii and oishi

Person1: "No I meant that I would go to the movies"
Person2: "oic"
