The act of a dog barking quietly.

The dog is boofing out the window, he must see a squirrel.

Boof

The sound a dog makes when they bark in a “whisper”. A gentle Bork.

His ears are pricked and he’s saying boof, boof, boof. Better redirect him before he goes into full bark mode.
