So you’re saying

The beginning of a straw man response to an online statement that does not conform to the prevailing narrative. The former Chancellor of the Third Reich is often invoked before being punctuated with the phrase, “Got it!”

“I think that affirmative action now often ends up harming the people that it was originally supposed to help.”
“So you’re saying that you think Hitler had the right idea all along. Got it!”

cheapfake

A term coined by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre to convince voters that what they are looking at is somehow not real.

A deepfake is a video of Biden talking about how he likes to have cucumbers shoved up his ass, while a cheapfake is a real video that makes Biden look like a dementia patient that we are supposed to believe somehow isn’t real.

Trump long-hauler

A person who continues to exhibit symptoms of Trump support for at least six months after the initial bout with the illness.

After having his bullshit detector ravaged by the initial infection four years ago, my neighbor, a Trump long-hauler, has just installed his 2024 lawn sign.

upwriting

A style of writing where declarative sentences are punctuated with a question mark instead of a period. It allows the writer to appear just as stupid and insecure on the printed page as they do in conversation.

“Thank you for buying me lunch?” is an example of upwriting.
