Something is too appropriate when it is accidentally extremely inappropriate, usually initially intended as something entirely innocent. Mistakenly thought to be synonymous with 'inappropriate', when in fact there is a very fine line between the two.
Inappropriate: rocking up to Michael Jackson's funeral dressed as a Thriller zombie.
Too appropriate: rocking up to a zombie-themed costume party as Michael Jackson from Thriller, only to have him die later that night.
