fish

1. A lost pet of the four-elbowed man.

Can you find the fish? Wherever could it be?

I wonder where that fish did go?

metalhead

Most basically, a fan of metal music. Metalheads are stereotyped as loud, obnoxious, stupid, drunk, and non-achieving; also as defiant, free-thinking, tough, and fed up with the social status quo. There is an element of truth to all of these, particularly the last.

Metalheads tend to be clannish, or at least identify with each other due to familiarity with esoteric bits of information on bands that most people have no clue exist.

Ways to spot a metalhead: long hair, t-shirts with band slogans and logos, denim or leather clothing, proclivity for yelling "JUDAS FUCKING PRIEST!" or other such barbarities.

Bands considered to (lyrically) sum up the spirit of heavy metal: Judas Priest, W.A.S.P., Destrâyer 666, Exodus.

Star Wars Galaxies

Very cool terrain generator and chat client.

Why use a chat room when you can pay $15/month for a chat room with terrain?

iron maiden

An extremely influential British metal band who got started as part of the NWOBHM. Largely owe their style to Judas Priest, but put their own spin on the form of metal that Priest established. Influenced a ridiculous amount of metal bands, and still going today. Basically one of those bands that is mandatory for metalheads.

bay area thrash

A metal scene started in the early 1980s in the San Francisco, CA Bay Area by thrash bands like Metallica, Testament, Exodus, Heathen, Vio-Lence, and many others. Devoted cult following.

Also used to describe a particular style of thrash, most easily recognizable by sped-up middle sections and a grounding in traditional speed metal.

2001's Thrash of the Titans benefit spotlighted several Bay Area Thrash bands reuniting to raise money for Testament singer Chuck Billy.
