Skunk

V. In the card game Cribbage, to beat an opponent by 31 points; that is, to reach 121 points before one's opponent reaches 91 points, which is worth 2 match points if a tally is being kept. Many cribbage scoreboards have a line drawn between the 90th and 91st hole, marked with an S, and referred to as the "skunk line". Unlike the double-skunk and triple-skunk, which are common unofficial 'house rules', the skunk rule is officially documented.

"Fifteen-two, fifteen-four, two for a pair make six and two runs of three make twelve, and I'm out."

"Well played! And you've skunked me, too! One more game?"

triple-skunk

V. In the card game Cribbage, an unofficial 'house rule' (not endorsed by the official rules), meaning to beat one's opponent by 91 points or more; that is, to reach 121 points before one's opponent reaches 31, which automatically wins a match comprised of multiple games, regardless of where the game tally stands. This is a very rare occurrence, unless an absolute novice player is playing against an accomplished player. See also skunk, double-skunk.

"One for the go, and that's all I need! Triple-skunked you, - you're still on the first straight! What happened back there?!"
