De-assholization

The process by which a person becomes accustomed to an asshole member of a social group and is then able to look past said asshole's behavior and appreciate him for the color of his personality.

The term was coined in the late 90's by the inhabitants of the (now defunct) Intel Call Center at the Heathrow campus of the Convergys Corporation.

Also known as: Getting to know Kevin 'Ribbs' Chance, a tall German kid from Deland Florida who had a flare for being an asshole in the most exciting of ways.

Loocious: Damn Kev, you're an asshole

Ralph: Loocious, YOU need to go through De-assholization.

Fury: Yep.

Terrible Tuesday

The backlash one experiences after a weekend of partying, usually on the designer drug ecstasy, the following tuesday after said weekend.

For reasons not clear, most ecstasy users have a 'hold-over' day in the 24 to 36 hour period following comedown (the ate up period), where the 'down' effects of the drug don't become apparent. This 'hold-over' day usually falls on a Monday if Saturday night was the day of usage. The next day, the Terrible Tuesday itself, is usually a day filled with depressive feelings and overall sadness and malaise. Dealing with critical issues is almost impossible and one is almost guaranteed to have mood swings.

Usage of the supplement 5-htp is recommended along with a bottle of Pedialyte immediately after coming down off of the roll in order to dampen, if not completely neutralize, the depressive effects from the E.

True origins are unknown, but most experts in the subject area agree that the term was probably coined during the ecstasy wave of the 90's and the subsequent rise of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) subculture in America.

Carl: I'm sad, hold me :(

Anne: Well, if you took your 5-htp like I told you too, you wouldn't be crying over those TPS reports. Not eating 7 rolls on Saturday night would have helped as well.

Carl: I want puppies and sunshine, boo hoo hoo :(.

wigger

A male caucasion, usually born and raised in the suburbs that displays a strong desire to emulate African American Hip Hop culture and style through "Bling" fashion and generally accepted "thug life" guiding principles.

Often characterized by his car, or "whip": usually an econobox modified with at least twice the car's book value in non-power producing modifications or an SUV with at least 5500 lbs. of curb weight. Traditional trucks can also qualify here, depending on locale (southern states' percentages are higher). All vehicles are also mandated to have at least 19" chrome alloy wheels, regardless of make. The typical wigger is also characterized by a strong desire to adorn gold jewlery (especially heavy gold chains) and athletic warm up suits. All equipment and clothing will be paid for by the parents of the individual in question, or the parents of said individual's "shorty" through the use of said shorty's credit cards.

A general disposition of "hard" will be displayed among other wiggers and to kids around their neighbohood (usually labelled a 'subdivision' or 'gated community' due to its mass produced housing develoment origins). This disposition will immediately be dropped and replaced by a more typical "white boy" disposition when in the presence of actual African Americans ( with exceptions: Those whose origins trace to the suburbs being the most prominant.).

Wigger: "Yo kid, you best be watchin' ya step!"

Typical Suburban White Girl: "Didn't you get that Do-rag at Hot topic?"

Wigger: "Yeah, well.. you know how we do!"

rhythmism

A popular nightlife information portal/messageboard based out of New York City that boasts a robust calendar of events in just about every subgenre of EDM with a leaning towards House, in-depth articles about happenings in the scene and a bustling forum community. Formed by power structure from the now dead Naughtybooth community, many board elders are ex-Twiloheads and can be considered elite party people (from a scene perspective as well as the perspective of their own egos). There are also complements of angry technoheads, breakers and, if the moon is in phase, a guido or two rounding things out.

Upon frequenting the forums one will find all sorts of characters. From venue owners and international DJ's to audiophiles to run-of-the-mill party people, all but candy ravers are represented. Discussion on the main board is pretty shoot from the hip, with chatter that often drifts completely away from nightlife to just about any subject imaginable. 'Auralism', is a great repository of EDM musical knowledge and 'Mechanism' fufills the needs of the audiophile/engineer/producer/gadgetmonkey set. 'Journalism' is a great place to read articles on all sorts of subject matter within the scene as well as "official" reviews by the talented writing staff. 'Globalism' is devoted to tracking events in many national and international clubbing destinations. No good nightlife board would be complete without the ubiquitous 'sex' board, which in this case is aptly named 'Carnalism' (members only).

Things to remember (If you decide to partake):

Any notion of liking trance or any of it's derivatives is generally going to be met with ridicule and/or sarcastic humor seeing as how most forum members are jaded ex-ravers who have been in the scene for some time.

The same thing goes for progressive house a la Sasha and Digweed from the Twilo days.

Ichi is always right.

Talk about the former club called ARC is frowned upon and will immediately be met with complaints about everything from the interior decor to the people that frequented it. Thinly veiled scene status self-reaffirmation about when the club was called Vinyl is also a common comeback by board elders.

Drug talk in the context of currently open venues is a no-no and should be avoided.

"Hi, I'm new" introduction threads are encouraged and often met with a joyous warm welcome from the existing members.

Take time to marvel at Krizia's breasts as well as Lena's scorchingly hot disinterested facial expressions.

We're cooler than you are, and you KNOW IT.

white boy

A caucasian male, usually of upper-middle or upper class background, that lacks any trace of what would be considered "soul" by convential wizdom.

WB 1 : "Lets go to Sanford to score some C"
WB 2 : "We can't"

WB 1 : "Why?"

WB 2 : "Lewis is out of town and he's our Token black guy.. I'm not driving to 15th street in the middle of the night!"

honky

A dated racial slur for caucasions in the USA. Probably could be considered the counter part of 'nigger' (not nigga).

A less offensive White boy and white girl are used conversational current day.

Homegirl goin' uptown to be with those Wall Street Honkies..

Soul

Put simply: One's ability (or lack thereof) to dance.

Almost always embodied by afro's, much more so in whites nowadays.
