Hyperacusis

A rare, debilitating hearing disorder that is characterized by an extreme sensitivity to sound. Normal sounds are perceived as too loud, while very loud sounds (such as a crowd cheering at a concert, or a very loud talker), are extremely painful and sometimes distorted.

People with hyperacusis also tend to have tinnitus as well, which worsens with loud sounds. Talk about a Double Whammy!

Hyperacusis often comes on suddenly, and it is not curable. However, it can be reduced to the point that it's barely noticeable.

"My mate has hyperacusis, and his mom talks so loud that I can hear her loud and clear all the way across the house. I can only wince at how painful it must be for him."

🤡🌎

A combination of emojis meaning "Clown World." Used by right-wingers to lambast the ridiculous state of the world we're in right now.

The news: "Men can get pregnant, the #1 female swimmer is a man, Disney is now a political activist instead of a fun place for kids to hang out, and there's people who think all of this is okay"

Right-wingers: 🤡🌎

Ghoughpteighbteau Tchoghs

The perfect example of why English is fucking stupid.

Using this horrific language's inconsistent rules for the pronunciations of various letters and combinations of letters, this seemingly nonsensical phrase can be pronounced as "Potato Chips."

"Hey you want some Ghoughpteighbteau Tchoghs?"
"What the fuck?"

Narcissistic Parent

The worst thing you can ever have in your life. A narcissistic parent doesn't love you, and simply sees you as an accident that sometimes serves as a useful tool to give them leverage in life. Trying to talk to them is like talking to a brick wall, and they always turn their flaws around on you to make it seem like you're being ungrateful. A person with a narcissistic parent often feels as though the parent in question doesn't care about them -- and they're right. But they also feel like their emotions and feelings mean nothing; THAT is false.

If you have a narcissistic parent -- or worse yet, BOTH of your parents are narcissists -- the best thing to do is RUN, and never look back. Forget they ever existed, because they never cared about your existence. You are worthy of being loved, even if your parent(s) don't think so. Find a person whom you look up to as the father/mother figure you never had and never let go. Don't even bother confronting them, because it will just make things worse for you. Simply cut them out and if you ever have children of your own, do everything you can to NOT be your parents.

Broad Side of a Barn

Something you can't hit if your marksmanship is very poor.

Man dude, I just don't trust you with guns. You couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if you tried.

No Man's Redemption

When an awful game actually becomes pretty good after awhile.

Named for No Man's Sky, a 2016 video game that was ridiculed upon its release because it was utter shite, with many people calling it one of the worst game of the decade...until 2019, when the game was actually finished. Now, it is a very popular game.

Fallout 76 is having a No Man's Redemption. Still a couple annoying bugs, but nonetheless it has improved greatly.

Bob Irwin

The lesser known father of Steve Irwin.

Born on June 8, 1939, Bob Irwin has been an animal conservationist for more than fifty years. He is still very much alive as of now, and has continued to live through the indescribable pain of outliving one's own child since his son's incredibly unusual death in September 2006. He was also the cause of some family drama in June 2021, when his granddaughter claimed that he was very cold and distant, sometimes to the point of flat-out abuse.

Bob Irwin is quite amazing when you think about it. The man found out that his son died doing what he loved, and it inspired him to keep going. He even semi-retired two years later to pay respects to Steve.
