It can used to describe the effects of the last words you said to your girlfriend before you broke up with her

Some guy: hey dude, you feeling alright?
another guy: no... I broke up with my gf
Some guy: well, what were your last words?
Another guy: My last words effected me like a ticking time bomb
Some guy: I didn’t ask how they affected you
