Refers to people who are preppy and wear vineyard vines who dwell in places like Hamptons or New Jersey. Their dads tend to buy them everything.

Person 1: hey you see that guy over there? In the vineyard vines shirt with the sperries?

Person 2: yeah he's east coast soft.
